Mark
Bunting is the most recognized celebrity-spokesperson for the
computer and technology world. Many refer to him as the Bob Vila
of Computers. You have seen him on NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s
The View, syndicated television, cable TV, on airplanes
hosting in-flight video, and on your local newscasts – always
talking about technology - his high-energy style combining both
his expertise and consumer appeal.
He began as the host of the first-ever syndicated television program on computers and technology back in 1991 with
The Computer Guy. His unique, homespun layman explanations offered pep talk for the cyber phobic and
technologically challenged. His message today remains both simple and
effective: Make technology of all kinds more consumer friendly
and entertaining, and above all else, explain real-life user
benefits, what these products really do, and why they
matter. His approachable and infectious presentation persona
has culminated in syndicated television series, cable TV franchises, news vignettes, television commercials, infomercials, personal appearances, books, corporate
video, and speaking engagements.

Mark’s career has spanned syndicated and cable television. His show
The Computer Guy was in syndication for 7 years and eventually went to The Learning Channel where it was nominated for a Cable Ace award and also included a 7-year run on KRON-SF (NBC). His kids program called
Mark’s Web World also launched in syndication and currently airs on WAM (Encore) reaching an audience of 8-14 year olds, and is also distributed in Cable-In-The-Classroom.
The
Home Computing Edge is a syndicated series of news vignettes launched with KTVT-Dallas (CBS).
Running on over 30 local market news programs Mark covers technology developments and the latest gadgets and gizmo’s. Broadening his technology spectrum, Mark also hosted the award winning
Invention for The Discover Channel which he anchored from the Smithsonian Institute in Washington
D.C., and brought to life each week the history behind some of the most influential and mundane inventions.
His expertise,
however, is not limited to the home computer and kids markets. He may
be best known for his work in the corporate computing world as the host of
Bunting’s Window which airs on 9 airlines in 7 languages worldwide, including United Airlines, US Air, American West (and others). Here he showcases the latest corporate IT products and services as well as the latest in mobile and consumer electronics. The show originally began as a weekly series on CNBC in 1993 before moving to United Airlines and eventually becoming the most widely distributed program in in-flight television.
Simon and Schuster
launched Virtual Power
with much fan-fare in 1997 to capture Mark’s self-help approach
to empowering people through the use of personal computers.
The book has sold 10’s of thousands of copies and brought the
endorsement of such luminaries as Tony
Robbins, Dr. Stephen Covey and even Academy Award
winner Jack Palance!

Over the course of the past 9 years Mark has hosted and/or produced video for over 300 consumer electronic and computer companies. His credits include everyone from Apple, IBM, Dell, Compaq, Microsoft, and Intel, to Sony, Panasonic, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and Hewlett-Packard. He has also hosted numerous trade show and corporate events, including spokesperson for Microsoft’s Home Division launch, Lotus Software annual show emcee, and has made television appearances for ATT, Timex and The
GoodGuys.
In 1998 Ziff-Davis (ZD-NYSE) purchased Mark’s company Dallas based SkyTV for approximately $72M. The company was subsequently re-acquired in June 2000. Mark lives with his wife and 3 children in Dallas.
